Table Mountain, South Africa

Surrounded by nature and alive with the urban beat of Africa, Cape Town is simply one of the best cities in the world. The Table Mountain Range is famous for its diverse flora and fauna, as well as its panoramic views of the ocean. White beaches fringe the landscape, a beautiful contrast of colour from land to sea. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. Locally known as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – The Smoke that Thunders, Victoria Falls borders on Zambia and Zimbabwe. Columns of spray can be seen and felt from miles away as 546 million cubic meters of water per minute plummet over the edge into a deep gorge – over 100 meters below. The spray flowing above the falls at Victoria Falls can sometimes be seen over 5 km away! Our Victoria Falls & Hwange superior package celebrates this world wonder, as well as Hwange – the largest national park in Zimbabwe.

Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Part of the Eastern Rift Valley, the Ngorongoro Crater is an extinct volcanic caldera.  This is as a result of a volcano having collapsed in on itself after a major eruption around 2.5 million years ago. An area of 264 km sq, the Ngorongoro Crater is truly a natural phenomenon – voted as one of the Seven Wonders of Africa, also known as the ‘Garden of Eden’ due to its ecological paradise. The area at the bottom of the volcano is a flourishing ecosystem, from forest to grassland, hosting an abundance of wildlife – including the big 5. Ngorongoro takes its name from “El-Nkoronkoro,” meaning “gift of life.” Embark on our Unrivalled Tanzania tour, exploring the vast and diverse landscapes of Tanzania.

Fish River Canyon, Namibia

The Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world. It boasts a drop of 1, 800ft (550m) in some areas and reaches 17 miles (27km) at its widest point, measurements that place this as a must-see highlight on a Namibia safari! You’ll be able to discover the wonderful hiking trails that typify the Fish River Canyon floor, covering a distance of 54 miles (86km). There is a certificate of fitness required by the National Parks’ office because of the somewhat rough and demanding sections of the trails, and our team will be more than happy to help you with any information that you might need in preparation for your African adventure. Our Northern Experience itinerary is a 24-day adventure through the heart and soul of Namibia.

Magadigadi Salt Pans, Botswana

The Makgadikgadi Pans are the largest salt pans in the world. Surrounded by the Kalahari Desert, it is an area of low rainfall, however, features its own unique ecosystem which attracts a large variety of both animal and birdlife. The wildlife have especially adapted to this arid environment, food and water more of a challenge than other areas. Some resilient animals include springbok, red hartebeest, zebra, bat eared-fox, cheetah, black-maned lions and meerkats. Each year, there is a zebra migration between the Okavango Delta and the Makgadikgadi Pans. The animals are in search of fresh grazing as well as being drawn to the higher mineral content in the grass near the salt pans. At a total of 600km, this migratory route is one of the longest recorded mammal migrations in Africa – an incredible safari spectacle. One can experience this on our Botswana Sensations tour, a 9-day journey showcasing the wild and untamed.
