Our Head of Reservations, Amber Meyer, tried out the cycling experience with some agents on a recent agent familiarization trip. Here is her firsthand account:

Everyone was very impressed with the standard of the bikes. We were riding on some dirt roads so I was a bit nervous at first but it was actually completely fine. We rode about 11-12 kilometres from the park and travelled to Vakona Lodge. We didn’t drive through the village but cycled around it on the outskirts. It was really nice to be outside in the fresh air. It does require a level of fitness, I haven’t been on a bike since high school so I did find the hills a bit challenging.

I was in the back mostly but it’s fine to go at your own pace. The agents that are more fit had a great time and were up in the front not struggling at all. If you are a cyclist on holiday this is definitely a great trip for you. There is some nice scenery along the route but the experience is more of a cycling adventure and the feeling of doing something different.
