Set in the tranquil, leafy suburb of Tamboerskloof, Cape Cardogan is the perfect base from which to explore Cape Town. Steeped in history, the very building in which you will stay was declared a National Monument in 1984 and carries with it all the charm of Georgian and Victorian architecture.

The Cape Cardogan radiates an aura of tranquility and relaxation that encourages its guests to recharge from the moment they arrive. Seamlessly marrying bohemian chic with simple elegance, this 5* lodge offers lengthy rooms for tired tourists to retire to, as well as relaxing lounges to sit and relax between bouts of dining on delectable cuisine and exploring all that the city has to offer.

The City Tour

Taking up half a day, the Cape Town city tour is a whirlwind way by which you will witness the breath-taking beauty and rich cultural essence of the city. Cape Town itself is steeped with cultural and colonial history and the city tour allows you to catch a glimpse of the city from its historical beginnings to its dazzling ranking at the top of the world’s must-visit destinations lists.

Highlights include the Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope, the picturesque Malay quarter of Bo-Kaap, and the artsy, vibrant market found on Greenmarket Square. To top off the day, a cable car trip will deliver you to the top of the 7th Wonder of the World, Table Mountain, from which you will have spectacular views of the Mother City and its surrounding peninsula.

The Point or The Winelands

During your time in Cape Town, you will be able to choose between a tour to Cape Point and the Peninsula and a Winelands tour. If you’re a nature lover who appreciates the beauty of your surroundings, then we highly recommend the former, while lovers of wine and the good food that goes alongside it cannot miss out on all that the Winelands have to offer. Cape Point is renowned as the most south-western point of the continent and the trip to reach it is a worthwhile undertaking for those who wish to be swept off their feet by the sheer beauty of the region.

The tour sees travellers travel through the fabulous spots of Clifton and Camps Bay before reaching the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay. After an optional boat trip to Seal Island, you will be driven along one of the most famous – and beautiful – roads in the world, Chapman’s Peak. This road will deliver you to the Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point.

Those in need of a walk can amble up to the Point, while taking in the vegetation, birdlife, endemic wildlife, historic lighthouse and shipwrecks that are found there. The tour culminates with a short drive to Simon’s Town where cheeky little penguins and charming Victorian architecture await you, before completing the day off with a visit to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. If your taste buds have been tantalized into the Cape Winelands Tour, then you are certain not to be disappointed as it delivers you to some of the best wine estates to be found in Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek.

Delightful from the start, a beautiful drive will deliver you to the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and featuring sloping vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Your first stop at a local wine estate in Paarl provides you with an insightful cellar tour and a wine tasting as you learn more about the finer points of wine-making. After that, the tour proceeds to Franschhoek, which dates back to the 17th century.

Acclaimed as the Gourmet Capital of the country, you will have the chance to sample the skills of a chef at one of many award-winning restaurants that are found there.

Once your stomach is satisfied, the tour will continue to Stellenbosch where you will be able to walk down canal-lined avenues as you take in the historic buildings, antique shops, galleries and wine bars that spill out onto the sidewalks.
