Description
Situated 21 km upstream from Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River, Chundu Island is an intimate island which forms part of the Zambezi National Park. This peaceful and secluded setting allows for the perfect birding and wildlife interactions, both on the island and the mainland. During the low water months, July to February, the western end of the island reveals an incredible beach where sundowners, special meals or games can be enjoyed. The main area of camp is situated in the shade of the majestic Natal Mahoganies which offer shade all year round.
The exquisite driftwood constructed bar is separated from the dining room and lounge by a natural wall of trees. Evenings can be enjoyed under a blanket of African stars, next to the fire pit, while enjoying the serenade of the African bush. Enjoy walks around the island, where you will encounter the vast birdlife or resident bushbuck while learning of the flora and fauna of the island or a morning and evening game drive on the mainland. Morning and evening boat cruises offer the perfect birding opportunities, and the island offers excellent fishing.
