Robins Camp • Hwange

Robins Camp in Hwange National Park is a reimagining of a renowned safari destination. Nestled in the northern Basalt region of the park, this area is characterized by its abundant natural water sources, featuring seeps and springs scattered throughout. It proudly boasts one of Africa’s last thriving herds of buffalo, with sightings of over 2000 individuals still common. The park’s highest concentration of lions can also be found here, thanks to the plentiful prey species. In addition to the iconic elephants and other wildlife encountered in the park, Robins Camp is home to sizeable populations of reedbuck, roan, sable, and tsessebe. The regular appearances of both cheetahs and African wild dogs are particularly encouraging and thrilling to witness.

The park’s terrain transitions from arid desert scrubs on the Kalahari’s fringes to rugged granite hills, woodlands rich in mopane and teak trees, as well as sprawling grassy plains adorned with palm trees and acacias. This remarkable landscape diversity fosters a thriving and varied wildlife population. Hwange National Park boasts an impressive array of over 100 mammal species and nearly 400 bird species, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Notably, it harbors one of the world’s largest elephant populations and offers regular sightings of rare animals like the Roan and Sable Antelope. Additionally, the park is home to vast herds of buffalo that graze its expansive grasslands.

For those seeking an authentic safari experience in Hwange National Park, Robins Camp provides designated camping areas where you can truly connect with nature. What sets Hwange National Park apart is its accessibility, located just an hour’s drive from the iconic Victoria Falls. This makes it a must-visit destination for anyone in search of a truly unforgettable safari experience.
