Wildlife Photography Tommy Varley

Tom was raised in Zimbabwe, in the Hwange National Park and Sijarira wildlife areas, and later on in Victoria Falls. With a professional guide for a father, he soon became familiar with the flora and fauna of Zimbabwe. After moving to Victoria Falls, Tom started kayaking on the Zambezi River and later became a raft guide. He then moved to the UK and joined the British Army as part of the NATO forces in Kosovo and Bosnia. He was in the Recce Platoon of the Royal Green Jackets, responsible for aerial and ground reconnaissance photography for Nato in the Balkans. When he returned to Victoria Falls, he went back to kayaking and rafting and then progressed to video kayaker. From there, his passion for camera work and photography grew fast, and due to his love for wildlife and the river, he spent most of his days filming and taking photos, trying to perfect his technique.
