The Magnificence of the Makgadikgadi Pans

In December Jenman African Safaris was invited to take part in the Botswana Travel & Tourism Expo (BTTE). We had a wonderful time connecting with industry partners and arranged a specially curated Fam trip to showcase the beauty of Botswana to some of our lucky agents. Our marketing specialist, Alessa, travelled through Botswana with 5 agents from Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, and Canada. It was a lovely group of well-travelled individuals who got along very well and had some wonderful experiences. Dinners were lively affairs with everyone chatting and laughing and making wonderful memories.

More accustomed to travelling by plane, they adjusted very well to the driving aspect of the trip even though it was the first time many of them had driven such long distances traveling in a foreign country. It was interesting for them to see the small towns along the way and not only the game reserves and national parks.

The agents were treated to amazing wildlife experiences in the Khwai Private Reserve that borders both Moremi and Chobe Game Reserves, these reserves are absolutely not to be missed on a trip to Botswana as they are teeming with wildlife and birdlife. The agents went on a game drive in Moremi and were delighted with the number of elephants and hippos in the park. They stayed at Hyena Tented Camp in Khwai and did site inspections at Sable Alley and SkyBeds.

Makgadikgadi Pans

Meno a Kwena near the Makgadikgadi Pans was one of the properties that everyone really enjoyed, the agents were very impressed with the stylish decor and the luxury tents, as well as the exceptional service with excellent attention to detail. They were also completely blown away by the Nxai and Makgadikgadi Pans, which were the highlight of the trip for most of the agents. To be surrounded by such vast nothingness and emptiness was an amazing feeling and completely different than anything else they had ever experienced. The unique ecosystem of the salt pans was an interesting change from the bush and river deltas of Moremi and Khwai.  It was also here where they had an adorable Meerkat encounter, as well as meeting with San Bushmen and learning about their ancient culture.

It was a fantastic Fam trip that truly shared the beauty and magnificence of Botswana. Selling this amazing destination just became a lot easier for the agents as well as providing them with a much needed holiday!
