Taste of Cape Town

I can’t decide – was the pork from Nobu (the ONE AND ONLY restaurant) or was the Thai curry from Wang Thai better? As I write this blog I am starting to feel very hungry… Each and every year Taste of Cape Town hosts a food festival at one of the schools in the mother city. This year the event was hosted at Rhodes High School in Mowbray and offered an exceptional setting for this food, wine and fun-filled event.

For those of you who have no idea what Taste of Cape Town is about – then I suggest next time you are on holiday to this stunning area, then make sure you book you holiday for the end of March!

Taste of Cape Town is an annual event where the city’s most acclaimed restaurants and carefully selected exhibitors come together at one event to show off their food, meals, products and drinks. Each year this event attracts just over 20 000 visitors, and for the past 3 years I have been one of those visitors! This year there were 19 different restaurants each one offering mini tasters of some of their most popular meals – with their world-acclaimed chefs working their magic in the tents. You can’t ask for more???!

My boyfriend and I tried as much as we could… and the toss up is definitely between Nobu and Wang Thai! There were also other stores selling their products ranging from Turkish delight and chocolate to biltong and pestos… It was a great night and luckily for us it didn’t rain – we had a great time and I still can’t decide which meal was better – think I’ll have to go to the actual restaurants to make my final decision.
