The tour encompasses practically all that South Africa has to offer (as well as Swaziland and Lesotho, two small countries located within its borders). Guests experience the contemporary and cosmopolitan vibe of urbanย centresย such as Cape Town and Johannesburg. Both cities are rich with culture, a bustling vibe and are home to important historical sites. Cape Town boasts beautiful beaches, the famous Table Mountain, excellent restaurants, and shopping, as well as a vibrant nightlife. Johannesburg, or Joburg for short, is known as the City of Gold and life certainly moves at a faster pace than in Cape Town.
It is home to the Apartheid Museum, a moving experience for anyone who is interested in learning more about the darker period of South Africaโs history. In Joburg guest can also clearly see how the country is rebuilding itself as a diverse and unified nation.
Travellers will also be able to experience traditional African culture in the Kingdom of Swaziland which includes a trip to Umphakatsi Chiefโs homestead, for an interactive experience where guests get to try their hand at grinding maize and plaiting mountain grass or join the children in Swazi song and dance, followed by a friendly meal with the community. In Lesotho, guests pony trek through rural villages using the local form of transport and encounter rural life along the way.
Of course there are excellent opportunities for game viewing in diverse and astounding games reserves and National Parks including the world-renowned Kruger National Park a great place to search for the Big Five, as well as HluhluweโImfolozi Game Reserve, Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary where the bird watching is wonderful, iSimangaliso Wetland Park another excellent place for birdwatching, and Addo Elephant Park where, of course. you will find many elephants big and small. Discover some of the countries most majestic mountain ranges and geological formations such as the dramatic Drakensberg, the emerald green Blyde River Canyon, the cavernous Cango Caves, and the high mountains of Lesotho.
Besides vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and wildlife diversity there are also opportunities to indulge in the finer things in life, like a sumptuous wine tasting in the Cape Winelands. Guests visit historical wine farms amongst rolling vineyards and sample world-class wine. A unique experience on this tour is an oyster tasting in Knysna, on the Garden Route. Try some of the freshest oysters ever, right where they are harvested and learn more about the bivalve molluscs.

The highlight of my trip would definitely have to be a lioness in Hluhluwe that was lying very relaxed in the road and then got up and decided that sheโs going to snack on a blue Toyota rental car, actually biting a few holes in the carโs bumper which I found quite hilarious. Not every day you see that on a Game Drive!
There were many more highlights of my trip, seeing a leopard quite close which is not always something that youโll spot so easily and see an actual Rhino crossing, where some Rhinos decided to cross the road in front of us. Pony trekking in Lesotho wasnโt exactly my ideal activity of doing as Iโm not really a horse person, but it was worth seeing the absolutely beautiful landscapes and bushman paintings. I loved hiking in the Drakensberg and staying at The Cavern, which was my most favourite place. There are so many things to do and see, such as having a relaxed morning at the Spa or simply watching a movie in their very own movie room.
It was a great experience, and I wouldnโt change anything about it.
