At JENMAN African Safaris, we are proud to be celebrating South Africa National Parks Week! South Africa is home to many stunning National Parks, and for the 18th consecutive year, the country has decided to dedicate a week to celebrating the country’s stunning national parks. Thus, South African residents are granted free access to the parks for a week in September. South African National Parks week will run from September 16 to 24, 2023.

South Africa is home to 21 glorious National Parks, and 18 of them will be open free of charge to South African residents! This is a wonderful opportunity to take advantage of South Africa’s beauty and learn more about our country’s natural environment. This is a fabulous time to visit the country’s national parks as spring is settling in and new life is everywhere.

West Coast National Park

It is highly recommended to visit West Coast National Park as it is wildflower season, and the blooms are in full force. This is a natural wonder that will truly take your breath away. When you visit West Coast National Park, you can also enjoy Eve’s Footprint and Trail along with countless activities.

Table Mountain National Park

Table Mountain National Park will be open. Table Mountain National Park is home to many attractions such as the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach where you are likely to spot penguins, Table Mountain, Silvermine Dam and hiking trails, Signal Hill, and Lion’s Head, along with many stunning beaches.

Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park offers unparalleled game viewing opportunities. This phenomenal park spans over 2 million hectares. When you visit Kruger, keep your eyes peeled to spot the Big Five, the Small Five, fantastic bird species, and extraordinary flora, to name a few.

Garden Route National Park

The Garden Route National Park spans three areas, namely Knysna, Tsitsikamma, and The Wilderness. This national park is known for its stunning coastline, lush forests, and renowned Otter Trail. When you visit the Garden Route National Park, you can expect to go on wonderful hikes, spot beautiful birds, and also enjoy a variety of water sports.

Addo Elephant National Park

Located in the wonderfully wild Eastern Cape, you will find Addo Elephant National Park. This park is home to an impressive 600 elephants and has an abundance of other species, including the Big Seven, namely the rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, and additionally, the great white shark and southern right whales.
